Seattle woman sets underwear world record

She might have looked and felt strange doing it, but a Seattle woman broke the world record for the most underwear worn at one time.

Janine

The Guinness World record was 250. Janine Keblish topped that by two pairs of underwear. Why? Keblish wanted to bring attention to a cause she's involved with, Days for Girls.

A few years ago Keblish and Celeste Mergens discovered a shameful secret on a trip to an orphanage in Kenya - a total lack of feminine hygiene products for young women.

"Millions of women all over the world go without, resulting in infection and exploitation and even girls being sold into slavery. They also miss three months of education each year, just for lack of hygiene," says Mergens. "And you wonder, how could this be happening in this day and age? The truth is, it's taboo to talk about."

Mergens started talking about it, and then doing something about it. She founded an international program, based in Lynden, Washington, called Days for Girls to create and distribute washable hygiene kits.

"I just couldn't look the other way, and even if it was 10 girls we could help or 50 girls or 500 girls. No matter what we had to do, it would be worth it," Mergens says.

The organization now has thousands of volunteers and has distributed 50,000 kits in 22 countries. I will post a photo tomorrow of what Keblish hopes will be a successful, new Guinness World Record for the most underwear worn at once.

    People have way

to much time on there hands. The women looks absolutely rediculous wearing all those panties and you can see that they got the biggest one's they could find as if those are normal panties that she is putting on.

What type of person have the time to do things such as this?

How come I don't have the time to see if I can set the world record for jumps on a vintage 1975 Big Wheel that I have kept in mint condition?

    What am I doing wrong?

This is a better record than setting one for wearing the same pair of underware the longest time.

    Did you idiots
Gloss over the part about how she is trying to draw attention to her organization, that she created herself, to help children around the world? What is wrong with you people? Also, for you token Seattle haters - did you read about how she is from Lynden - AKA as far as you can get from Seattle without being in Canada? It really is hilarious reading comments from you back woods, right wing, uneducated fools, especially when you hate on Seattle - Second in the nation for literacy, one of the (if not the, it was a couple years ago) top cities for college degrees, and the location of many wildly successful businesses.....and we all vote Democrat!

Raising money for a fantastic cause doing something funny and hilarious….in the current climate where most people need a smile put on their face to help them get through the day, this is brilliant. I hope the exposure goes global for Days for Girls and Project Thrive. This beautiful girl’s t-shirt says it all, Love Wins. As for the negative bloggers, life’s just too short but I will say this…maybe Janine and Celeste should arrange another fundraiser to finance all of your brain and personality transplants….actually thinking about it, that’s a lost cause. You should be living life to the full with a smile on your face….and perhaps get out a little bit more. What have you done to make a positive difference in the world?!? Get a life.
