Tax dollars at work: Woman paid $15M over bus bump injury

A woman who was injured when a bus went over a speed bump has been awarded $14.3 million.

The Daily Mail reports Maria Francisco, 20, damaged one of her vertebrae in the incident, requiring surgery.
Her 4-year-old daughter was also awarded $1 million for witnessing her mother’s ordeal. Read more about the case.
