The news that Trump has been diagnosed with COVID-19 sent shockwaves throughout the country. For KIRO Radio’s Gee Scott, this is a time when human decency must come before politics.
“My true thoughts and prayers are with the president and the first lady, and Hope Hicks, and I wish them a speedy recovery. I don’t wish illness on anyone. This is a time in our country when I hope that we all put aside our politics, and our opinions. In my opinion, human decency always comes before politics,” he said.

Feliks Banel, filling in for KIRO’s Ursula Reutin, agrees with this sentiment but acknowledges this year has made it difficult for him.
“Boy, this year has made that hard, though, just to be honest. I struggle within. I have a projection of myself. I aspire to be a good person and always think good thoughts and to think the right thing about people. But boy, sometimes I’m weak and I fail, and sometimes have bad thoughts at times like this,” Banel said.
