The Puget Sound region’s brief chance of snow ends Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

“The damage has been done if you are looking snow,” the NWS said in its latest forecast, citing air that’s too warm for anything more than rain and mixed flakes early Wednesday morning.

As the day progresses, snow levels will rise from 500 feet in the morning to “a little bit higher this afternoon,” before dissipating entirely.

Highs will be in the mid-40s with a threat of rain showers throughout Wednesday.

KIRO 7 Meteorologist Morgan Palmer says areas in western Whatcom County and other parts of the Olympic Peninsula could also see minor accumulations of snow, but likely less than an inch.

The NWS believes that there won’t be any threat of snow going into the weekend, with models “in pretty good agreement” over a weaker system arriving Friday night into Saturday morning.
