The Seattle Kraken, the NHL’s brand-new team, will hit the ice for its first regular season game at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12. The Kraken will be facing off against the NHL’s previous expansion team, the Vegas Golden Knights.

Eide’s Seattle Kraken Preview: 3 things to watch in history-making NHL opener

Back home in Seattle, fans are preparing to celebrate the arrival of the city’s newest team.

The Kraken Community Iceplex at Northgate is hosting its first “Kraken Game Night.” It’s a family friendly, dry event that will include giveaways, prizes, a live DJ, and hockey insights from Kraken staff. Seating and programming begins at 6:30 p.m., but the iceplex says it’s already at capacity for spectator-only admission where fans will be able to sit in the rink bleachers to watch the game on a 32-foot screen.

If you’re still interested in attending, you can purchase public skate and viewing admission for $20, but advanced registration is required. Skate rental is $5 per person.

The 32 Bar & Grill at the Kraken Community Iceplex is not yet open.

Even Alaska Airlines, a partner of the Seattle Kraken, has a special new plane to support the team.

With so much excitement surrounding the Kraken, expect your favorite neighborhood sports bar, restaurant, or probably anywhere with a TV to be tuned to the game at 7 p.m.

For help finding a place to watch the games in-person, check out the “Anchor Alliance,” a network of 32 bars “that are devoted to bringing Kraken fans together to watch home and away games.” There have been 11 announced so far, with more coming soon.

Kraken CEO: Climate Pledge Arena is the ‘most beautiful arena in the world’

It looks like the whole region is rooting for the Kraken to take their first win.

Prior to the first regular season game, the Kraken played three exhibition games across the state — one in Spokane, one in Everett, and one in Kent — and three away games. The first regular season home game for the Kraken, which will be played at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, is against the Vancouver Canucks on Oct. 23. Between Tuesday and the first home game, the Kraken play four away games.
