Police found drugs and about half a dozen firearms in a “problem” residence that became the scene of a homicide investigation Wednesday.

The Associated Press reports a half a pound of meth, along with heroin and guns, were found inside a travel trailer where three people were found shot to death in Thurston County, east of Lacey.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting occurred in the 500 block of Dutterow Road.

A man called 911 at about 5:17 a.m. saying he was shot and three friends were dead, Chief Dave Pearsall told KIRO Radio. The man didn’t know where he was.

“Our dispatch center was able to use his cellphone to determine the area he was in. Deputies showed up and found him in the driveway collapsed on the ground, obviously suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the abdomen area,” Pearsall told KIRO 7.

The man was taken to Providence St. Peter’s hospital.

Deputies found the bodies of two males and a female in a trailer after searching the property.

Pearsall told KIRO 7 no one is being ruled out as a suspect, including the man who called 911. He was interviwed after surgery, but was not coherent.

“We don’t know if we’re looking for an outstanding suspect at this time,” he said.

Neighbors told KIRO 7 they heard three gunshots coming from the property around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. They saw a man in front of the house; he never left the property.  They also said the house is known for drug problems.

Pearsall is not yet calling the shooting a drug-related crime, but he noted that it is “a known area for some narcotics being sold.”

The Associated Press contributed to this story.
