On Tuesday, Governor Inslee visited students studying the industry at South Puget Sound Community College, which is the first place in the country to offer an associate degree in craft brewing and distilling.
“It’s yet another Washington state innovation to help to build our economy,” Inslee said about the associate degree program.
Today, I visited @SPSCC, they offer the nation’s first associate degree program in craft brewing, distilling, and cider making. This is an innovative program in a fast growing field. Great to see students pursuing their passion with a mix of science and innovation. pic.twitter.com/hmAI6tWmuu

The governor also toured the restored Olympia Beer plant at the base of Tumwater Falls.
“It’s really a gorgeous building. It has been, essentially, stabilized,” Gov. Inslee said. “We’ll stand ready to listen to new proposals to move forward, and I’m just glad that we have kept this portion of Washington’s tradition alive.”
