Jamal Adams injured weeks before season start
A big blow to the Seahawks defense — Safety Jamal Adams broke a middle finger this week during the team’s first training camp practice.
Head Coach Pete Carroll says Adams had surgery on the same hand during the off-season.
Adams played with dislocated fingers the past two seasons.
Sources tell the Seattle Times he should be ready for the start of the regular season.
Oil spill in Dyes Inlet
An unknown amount of diesel spilled into Dyes Inlet after a pipe burst open at Naval Base Kitsap this morning.
The Navy notified U.S. Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound and the Washington State Department of Ecology about this incident shortly after its occurrence. More information will follow as it becomes available.
ODESZA returns, sells out three nights
In honor of three straight upcoming concerts at Climate Pledge Arena, Executive Dow Constantine declares today ODESZA Day in King County.
The Grammy-nominated Seattle duo hits the stage tonight for their first live performance in more than two years. ODESZA is playing two more shows tomorrow night and Sunday at Climate Pledge — marking the first three-night sell-out at the arena.
Highway closed for weekend
A four-block stretch of highway 99 in SeaTac will be closed all weekend.
Expansion of Sound Transit’s light rail is behind the shutdown that begins tonight at 10 p.m. from South 204th Street to 208th Street.
The roadway is set to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.
Other road closures and light rail service disruptions are ahead this summer as Sound Transit works to add nearly 30 miles of light rain track this decade.
