It was there that officers found a man in his 30s with a gunshot wound.
Life-saving efforts were administered by Tacoma Fire & Rescue, but the man was pronounced dead on the scene.
“We do have detectives out and they are working vigilantly to find the shooter,” said Shelbie Boyd with the Tacoma Police Department.
Police did not say or do not know what led up to the shooting.
This was the third Tacoma homicide in the last 24 hours.
Tacoma homicide adds to deadliest year on record
“The entire country has been seeing an uptick in homicides and we are no exception,” Boyd told KIRO Newsradio.
“It’s got to stop,” one resident told KIRO 7 News. “It’s not fair to the people living here.”
Tacoma police are asking for the public’s help, but details about what happened are sparse.
“Always reach out if you know anything about a crime,” Boyd said. “You never know if it is the needed detail to put the pieces together.”
