Dori: Seattle Public Schools indoctrinate youth with Scholastic reader

Feb 2, 2019, 6:33 AM

I talk all the time about how our schools, especially Seattle Public Schools, indoctrinate our kids into a very Left-wing ideology. The way they do it is sometimes overt, and sometimes more subtle. Let me share with you the email I got this week from listener Matthew.

My daughter attends fourth grade in the Seattle School District. She has a weekly assignment to read the “Scholastic News” reader that is for reading comprehension. This week’s edition had a cover story titled, ‘Women in the House,’ about the increase of women being elected to Congress with some history of women’s suffrage. While I didn’t have any objections with the article for the most part, it’s the cover that I found troubling for several reasons. On the cover are five newly-elected women to Congress, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar.

This cover is the continual far-Left indoctrination by our public schools. First, there are no Republican Congresswomen on the cover. You also have the Socialist agenda being pushed with AOC. The most troubling, however, is that you have two outright anti-Semites represented with Tlaib and Omar, as well as AOC’s association with Al Sharpton and her membership with the Democratic Socialists of America, who support the Boycott, Divest, Sanctions movement against Israel.

This is how it begins, normalizing people like this by putting them on a cover linked to a story about women achieving.

Yes, these are five radical, far-Left Democrat women on the cover. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is so far out there with her 70-percent tax plan and ‘free-market-capitalism-is-evil’ viewpoint.

But then you have these other two. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), in the past, has tweeted, “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.” She has said things like this throughout her career. The antisemitism is very clear with her. She uses words that are clearly coded as common antisemitic beliefs, painting Jews out as deceiving the world.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) does not want to send aid to Israel because it does not “fit the values of our country.”

These Congresswomen are close to Louis Farrakhan, whose anti-gay, anti-Semitic rhetoric is very well-documented, as I told you a couple of weeks ago before the Women’s March.

A couple of weeks ago, MSNBC had an anchor who suggested that the reason Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) supports the president is because Trump has something on him. The big whisper game in D.C. is that Lindsey Graham is a closeted gay.

Ilhan Omar, in talking about Graham, tweeted, “They got to him, he is compromised!” There were all of these little bullying tactics like this that the Left used.

The bottom line from the listener is, can you imagine if they had put five Republican female Congresswomen on the cover of Scholastic Reader? It would never be allowed in our public schools. But not only are they featuring just Democrats, they are featuring the most radical antisemitic, anti-gay Congresswomen.

Why are the Seattle Public Schools celebrating some of the most hateful people in Congress? They talk all the time about inclusiveness and diversity. Can we not have any political diversity? Can we not have anyone even in the center, let alone the Right? Does it have to be the most radical people who get the cover of this publication?

This is yet another example of the propaganda in the Seattle Public Schools, and how they work feverishly to indoctrinate our children with only one political ideology.

They are liars and they are hypocrites when they talk about diversity and tolerance and acceptance, because when they are faced with anyone who has a different social or political ideology, they become about as intolerant and un-accepting as human beings get.
