Alleged King County child molester goes on the run

Mark Dale Shewmaker was scheduled to hear the verdict in his trial over three charges of child molestation on Friday.
He never showed.
Now the King County Sheriff’s Office is on the hunt for Shewmaker, 56, of Yakima. He was last seen riding a black Suzuki motorcycle with Washington plate number 9B1265 in the Chinook Pass area. The sheriff’s office notes that he has access to other vehicles and he has ties to the south King County area.
Shewmaker was accused of three counts of child molestation that occurred between 2008-11. The verdict in his trial for the charges was scheduled on May 8. He did not show up and has not been seen since.
Shewmaker is a white male, 6’1″, and weighs approximately 220 pounds. He has grey/brown hair and brown eyes.
There is a $500,000 warrant for his arrest.
King County Sheriff’s Office is asking for any information that will help locate Shewmaker. Deputies can be reached at 206-296-3311. If anyone sees Shewmaker they are asked to call 9-1-1.
