A candle was the culprit of a fire that destroyed several boats moored at a Lake Union marina Monday morning.

The three-alarm fire damaged 11 boats, sinking four of them, according to the Seattle Fire Department. One business was also destroyed, KING 5 reports.

Firefighters responded to the scene in the 2100 block of Westlake Avenue North around 1 a.m. The fire started in an area where floating homes and businesses are situated within close proximity of each other.

The fire was mostly out before 4 a.m.

An investigation found that an unattended candle was the cause of the fire.
