Dori found a photo of a Gordon Biersch kids’ menu hilarious and very apropos for Seattle.

On the menu, a boy says, “We should visit Seattle sometime.” A girl answers him, “No way, I’m scared of needles.”

Recognizing a sentiment felt by many Pacific Northwesterners these days, when discarded hypodermic needles have become a common hazard at Seattle parks, beaches, and even on sidewalks, Dori wondered if the menu could be an expression of disgust at what downtown Seattle has become.

However, a phone call with Gordon Biersch revealed that the caption was actually talking about Seattle’s most iconic symbol, the Space Needle. At the very top of the menu is an image of the Space Needle, and the girl appears to be looking up toward it.

Still, listeners thought the accidental double entendre that could be found in this menu was fitting.
