Dori for governor

Dori, you will be the best governor this state has had since Dan Evans, and you have my entire family’s votes. Go for it. Your wife will make a great first lady. Don’t back down now, I want your name on the ballot for governor. The only sad part will be not hearing you on the radio. Fix our state, please.

– Keith in Port Orchard

Dori, the people need you! We need a governor with a brain. Please, consider running. You could do so much good for the common citizens who are being forced to leave the state. You have our votes!

– Robert in Gig Harbor

Please stop teasing us and actually run for governor. You already ran for president, and I can’t imagine a gubernatorial campaign would be any harder on you than that was.

– Mick in South Prairie

Smells like victory

Hey guv’na, looks like you earned a new nickname after your decision not to shower — ‘Lil’ Stinker.’

– Heidi in Redondo

Run as a write-in candidate

As the Hillary-Trump race showed, there is no category for “none of the above.” That’s how parties manipulate the vote. Inslee is a known quantity, and the issue of his state-paid security detail is a known thing. Voters remember — there is no point in beating a dead horse in talking about it. My advice is that you do what you did before — run as a write-in candidate. Your campaign motto could be, “A write in vote for me is ‘none of the above.'” It won’t cost you anything — you don’t get entangled with public disclosure. And you don’t have to spend any extra-curricular time on it — it won’t change your life.

– Jeff in Tacoma

Run as an Independent

Dori, in my opinion, if you run for governor, you will not receive the wholehearted support of either party. Unless a person supports the party platform from A to Z, they are not worthy of that party’s backing. I suggest you run as an Independent, and you’ll have an greater chance of winning.

This is your destiny

Dear Dori, I know you’re probably joking about your gubernatorial run; that being said, I truly wish you would run. My family and I are longtime listeners. We believe in you and believe you are the only chance our state has to move back into the realm of reality. Everything happens for a reason, and I believe this is part of your life’s path. Think hard and remember what sets you apart — you love. Thanks for always fighting the good fight, giving us a voice, and educating us where others don’t or refuse to.

Seattle teachers get 11-percent raise

I just heard your rant about teachers’ salaries. I can’t speak to the money issue, but am really sorry to hear your misunderstanding about their time at work/on-task. As a retired high school English teacher, I can share that most teachers work every single night after dinner, and on at least one weekend day. People in the business world are done when they walk out of the office — not so much with teachers. Most have to work as well in the summer to supplement their salaries. I am disappointed because I thought that after your longtime connection to Roosevelt, you would better understand the enormous prep time needed to make a classroom work. Elementary teachers also work hard because they have to plan for many subject areas and work with small children who have no attention span at all. That’s so much planning for them. So please try to learn something about the reality of teachers’ lives.

Bats, bats everywhere

Bats may not be blind, but there is one species — the Western Washington Dingbat — which occupies our state’s highest office, and appears to be very blind indeed.

Appreciation for Sean

I would appreciate it if you would let Sean DeTore know he makes my commute from Olympia to Sumner and back better! I have to podcast the shows, and when I hear his voice and silliness … well, I always laugh, and and bring that smile to work with me!

Man who attacked musician released

Only 10 days for almost killing someone with a baseball bat? If that were to happen to me, would I only get 10 days if I were to seek revenge?

Dori helps out a contractor

Dori has really improved my work ethic. When I hear him talk about the liberal lunacy at work, it makes me swing my hammer faster and harder!

Seattle needs to change

Dori! Longtime podcast listener here. I’m a homeschooling mom of six, and my husband is a hardworking sergeant in the Washington State Patrol. It’s not that I didn’t believe Seattle had become as bad as you all claim, it’s just that the last time I was there was almost three years ago — and that was to a nicer area that was only slightly overrun by homeless. But, driving through downtown Seattle for a wedding this weekend, with my six kids age 12 and under, oh my lands! One example of what we saw — a man was naked on the side of the freeway. That did it for me. I’ll be sharing your podcast more, and fighting harder to inform people — especially the millennials in the Seattle area — that this is not normal. I was in Madison, WI last week, and saw only three homeless people in the whole city/capital area. No weeds. Clean streets. You felt safe walking around. Thank you for all you do!
