A billboard ad in Seattle may be a little lost.
A Reddit user posted this photo taken in the Seattle region featuring a billboard sign. The sign is for the Dietz & Watson deli meat company, and states their “standards are as high as Mt. Hood.” The billboard is conveniently placed aside an iconic Northwest mountain, however, it’s not Mount Hood. It’s Mount Rainier.
As most Seattlites are well aware, Mount Rainier can be seen from the Emerald City — especially from Highway 99 near the West Seattle Bridge where the photo was taken. Mount Hood, on the other hand, is a tough find from Seattle. After all, it is in Oregon.
Safeway is also referenced on the sign as a grocery store customers can find Diets & Watson products. According to a Safeway spokesperson, a vendor purchased and designed the billboard without their knowledge. Safeway has asked them to replace it immediately.
Dietz & Watson is headquartered in Philadelphia.
