The state isn’t done adding toll lanes on I-405.

Lines painted on streets in Renton’s Talbot Hill neighborhood outline a future ramp connecting to express toll lanes on I-405 and SR 167, KING 5 reports.

It’s a project that Washington State Department of Transportation I-405 Program Director Kim Henry says is a necessary move.

Relatd: Only a matter of time before changes to I-405 cause ‘something nasty’

“It’s not just improvement at the interchange, it’s how it fits into the rest of the improvements we’re doing here,” Henry told KING 5.

The project will cut into a portion of some residents’ properties. One person plans on suing WSDOT.

Scheduled to begin next summer, the $285 million project went to bid on Monday, just after the I-405 tolls went live.
