The Puget Sound region will likely see a snow intermission Thursday morning and afternoon, but another small system is on tap Thursday night, with snow levels falling below 500 feet.

No accumulations are expected anywhere below 1,000 feet elevation, with temperatures gradually warming into the low-40s.

Snow levels will gradually rise throughout Friday, bringing light rain to the region through the weekend.

After Thursday, the region’s run of mid-January snow will officially be at an end.

Rain and mountain snow might feel like a break after a wild Wednesday of lowland snow and strong winds. The National Weather Service clocked gusts around the region from about 40 mph to 60 mph. Destruction Island saw a 72 mph gust.

Weather across the Puget Sound region has warmed up enough Thursday for most roads to be clear of snow and ice.

Widespread power outages were reported Wednesday night.
