New upgrades at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) are giving Chase Bank cardholders even more reasons to arrive early for their flights.

The Port of Seattle commissioners approved a new 16,000-square-foot Chase Sapphire Lounge in Concourse A, the Puget Sound Business Journal reported.

The project is expected to cost around $70 million and could generate $7.9 million per year once it’s finished, according to a Port of Seattle Commission memo.

The new Chase lounge will be located next to the expanded Delta One Lounge. This is SEA’s second credit card lounge, with the American Express Centurion Lounge in the Central Terminal, which opened in 2023.

So who can access this new lounge?

Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business, J.P. Morgan Reserve, and The Ritz-Carlton credit card holders will have complimentary access to the lounge, The Seattle Times reported. Cardholders may bring up to two guests for free, with additional guests for $27 per person.

Amenities

According to a September commission meeting, amenities would include:

  • Luxury shower suites.
  • Nursing room.
  • Family room.
  • All-gender restrooms.
  • Locally inspired food and drink.
  • Digital food ordering.
  • High-speed WI-FI and plug-in outlets.

Cost and value

The port originally wanted to create the space as a common-use lounge. However, port officials decided to designate the space for the Chase Sapphire Lounge because it would be less costly and increase revenue, the Puget Sound Business Journal reported.

The port already invested $25.9 million in the space and would have invested another $8 million for a lounge. That contrasts sharply with the $70 million Chase will invest to complete the space.

The new lounge is expected to add 118 hourly jobs and 10 management roles.

There is no expected opening date for the lounge at this time.
