New Denny Triangle high-rise could be a Seattle first

A project that would be located within the ever-developing Denny Triangle could be a first for Seattle.
The 36-story building at 1800 Terry Ave. would be the first Priority Green urban high-rise project, according to information submitted to Seattle’s Department of Construction & Inspections.
In addition to its green construction, the Puget Sound Business Journal reports the building would be the city’s first modular high-rise.

Plans call for 360 apartments with ground floor retail and enough parking for 290 vehicles, according to city documents. Interior and exterior recreational facilities would also be included at the fourth level, according to the project proposal. Above that will be a total of 38 apartment levels.
Instead of being completely built on site, modular tower units are assembled, shipped and pieced together.
Designed by CollinsWoerman and affiliate Sustainable Living Innovations, the project would follow another modular created by CollinsWoerman in the University District. The 24-unit, six-story 47 + 7 building at 4558 Seventh Avenue was honored at the People’s Choice Urban Design Awards. That project took less than a year to complete, according to the Sustainable Living Innovations website. The U-District project broke ground Aug. 4, 2014 and was finished April 1, 2015.
The city held an early design guidance meeting for the 1800 Terry project Tuesday.
