Ongoing power outages have caused the Mercer Island School District to delay school two hours and cancel a.m. kindergarten.
Crews are working to restore the few areas still affected by power outages caused by a wind storm over the weekend.
Power was restored to almost all of the thousands of customers across the Puget Sound Monday morning.
Twenty-four hours after a storm rolled across the Puget Sound, thousands of people were still without power Sunday night.
Crews working through the night were able to restore power to most of Seattle where only 180 customers remained in the dark.
More work is still being done for Puget Sound Energy customers, where 6,500 customers are still without power as of 6 a.m. Monday.
Downed trees and power lines were reported across the region, including in Redmond, Belltown, West Seattle and Bellevue.
The National Weather Service said wind gusts of over 60 miles per hour were recorded in some parts of the region Saturday night. The 520 bridge was closed for a brief period.
