Man charged with shooting upskirt videos at Puyallup’s South Hill Mall

A 36-year-old man who secretly videotaped up girls’ skirts at Puyallup’s South Hill Mall has been charged with voyeurism.

Nicholas Shreck, 36 was ordered held Monday in lieu of $150,000 bail by a Pierce County Superior Court judge.

Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist says some women noticed Shreck following girls around the mall carrying a small shopping basket on Sunday and reported him to a store security officer.

The officer suspected Shreck was shooting upskirt video and confronted the man, discovering a video camera hidden by cardboard and newspaper.

The officer held the man until police arrived. They found over 100,000 digital photos and hundreds of hours of video on the camera. Many of the images were of young girls in their early teens.

Shreck admitted to police he used the videos for his personal sexual gratification.

The Washington State legislature passed a law in 2003 making the shooting of upskirt videos a felony.

“And now we vigorously prosecute these violations of privacy,” Lindquist says.
