With the Seahawks selling out all of the team’s tickets for the upcoming season, fans turning to the secondary market can expect to pay a hefty premium to see the Super Bowl champs in action.

A new analysis by online ticketing service Seat Geek finds Seahawks tickets are the most expensive in the NFL this season, with the average ticket price for a regular season game in Seattle up 53 percent over last year.

“That’s by far the biggest year-over-year increase we’ve seen for a Super Bowl-winning team,” says Seat Geek analyst Connor Gregoire.

Tickets are currently selling for an average price of $329 each on the secondary market. The most expensive game on the schedule so far is the Seahawks Sept. 4 season opener against Green Bay.

“It’s also the most in-demand game in the NFL, with tickets going for an average of $460 apiece on the secondary market,” Gregoire says.

The price range is huge. A check of Stub Hub shows tickets in the upper reaches of CenturyLink Field for the Packers game can be had for $265, while club seats are selling for $2,800 and up.

Tickets for the Super Bowl rematch against the Broncos in Week 3 are averaging $389, while the game against the NFC West rival San Francisco 49ers in Week 15 is averaging $360 per ticket on the secondary market.

Prices are slightly lower for tickets to see the Seahawks take on the Oakland Raiders and New York Giants, with asking prices starting at $118 for the Raiders game Sunday, Nov. 2.

Along with high demand, limited supply is also driving the market. Gregoire says a surprisingly large number of Seahawks fans are holding on to their tickets despite the potential to reap big profits.

“Prices are at an all-time high, but the secondary market for Seahawks tickets is only the 7th-most active in the NFL,” he says.

When it comes to finding a bargain on Seahawks seats, you can forget about it. But Gregoire says you can time your ticket purchases to avoid paying the maximum amount.

“We recommend that fans looking to get the best possible deal wait until the week of the game — but not until gameday — to buy,” he says. “Prices tended to peak last season about 2 weeks to 10 days prior to kickoff, then declined somewhat steadily until the day of the game.”

Demand is even high to watch the Seahawks practice, which starts on Friday. The team sold all of the approximately 2,800 tickets available for 12 training-camp sessions at the team’s training facility in Renton. Sellers on Craigslist are offering tickets for as much as $60 each.
