Boeing close to paying out South Carolina bonus

Boeing might have to pay a performance bonus to its workers in South Carolina for a situation it created when it laid off hundreds of employees at the plant last year.
Workers in South Carolina are in line for bonuses up to $4,000, if they can maintain new productivity targets for another four days.
Boeing dangled the catch-up bonus to workers in February after the South Carolina plant fell about ten days behind in productivity, and it began to ship fuselage pieces to Everett with a bunch of unfinished work.
The Post and Courier cites an internal memo that confirms the workers have reached their goal but now must maintain it for a few more days to get the one-time bonus.
Many experts believe the plant wouldn’t have fallen so far behind if Boeing hadn’t gotten rid of hundreds of employees last year. The company has since hired many of them back and will now be paying them a bonus.
