Snohomish County deputies apprehended a carjacking suspect Wednesday, who had fled from police and hid in a tree.

Bothell Police reported the suspect hid in the tree for hours, before coming down and submitting to law enforcement shortly before 3 p.m.

Officers initially responded around 11:30 a.m. near Bothell Everett Highway and 180th Street Southeast. A tweet from the sheriff’s office said deputies were trying to take the man into custody when he fled and went up a tree.

They said he was wanted in connection with a carjacking that happened in Bothell earlier Wednesday. The man allegedly was going 114 mph on a motorcycle on northbound I-405 and then carjacked someone at a nearby hotel, officials said.
