Here are your options once the highway 99 viaduct closes

The highway 99 viaduct will be closed for your Friday morning commute, or as I explained to my aunt over the weekend: Friday is the day you’ll forget and angry text me.
The viaduct will be closed starting on Friday morning, April 29, and, hopefully, will reopen on May 13 (or it could be later).
That Friday morning commute might be light, but people will forget over the weekend and then on Monday it might get crazy.
Let’s talk about other options if you are coming in or out of Seattle:
1. Work from home or try to adjust your schedule to avoid major commute times. You will see rush hour start earlier and linger later. And I realize this is an annoying thing to say, but if you can avoid travelling I-5 in Seattle from 6-10 a.m. or 3-7 p.m., do it. This is not always possible but it doesn’t hurt to ask the boss.
2. Metro will have access to 11 additional buses with 22 shifts. Metro says that’s almost 135 hours to play with. Get your Orca card here.
3. Uber and UberHop – If you are planning on using any car service next week, make reservations well in advance. UberHop, the new carpool version of Uber will have a new drop off/ pick up at Don Armeni Boat Ramp in West Seattle.
4. Seattle waterfront parking – Because of the viaduct closure, you will lose parking under the viaduct and on some side streets. Seattle waterfront businesses have extended FREE three-hour valet parking after 5 p.m. and the Luxe parking service. With Luxe, you download the app and tell the valet where to wait for you.
