Gov. Jay Inslee is not particularly popular following the adjournment of the legislature that went two special sessions.

A poll commissioned by Stuart Elway found just 40-percent of voters rate the Governor’s overall job performance “good” or “excellent” during his first six months in office. Forty-nine percent of voters in the survey rate Inslee’s performance “fair” or “poor.”

The governor’s rating declines when voters are asked specifically about Inslee’s leadership during the legislative session, getting positive marks from just 35 percent of the voters surveyed.

Elway tells The Seattle Times that Inslee’s numbers are close to those of his predecessor, Chris Gregoire, during her first six months in office. She had a 43 percent approval rating in Elway’s poll in 2005.

The poll of 406 registered voters was conducted last week.
