More than a week later, state worker and vehicle pulled from Hood Canal

After driving off the Hood Canal Bridge more than a week ago, crews recovered a man's body and his vehicle from the water on Thursday morning. (WSP)

After more than a week, a state worker and his vehicle were pulled from the Hood Canal.
The Hood Canal Bridge was closed Thursday morning for the recovery.
The Washington State Department of Transportation says the bridge was closed in both directions.

The bridge reopened just before 7 a.m.

An employee of the Washington State Department of Transportation disappeared more than a week ago. He and his vehicle were found — using sonar — nearly 350 feet under water in the Hood Canal.
Search crews suspect the employee drove off the Hood Canal Bridge May 16.
