Police have arrested a 28-year-old woman in the stabbing death of an 82-year-old man in the travel trailer where he lived in Marysville.
Police said information from an informant led to the arrest of the Marysville woman for investigation of murder, robbery and theft of the victim’s vehicle.
Police Commander Robb Lamoureux said more arrests are expected as other people are suspected of being involved in killing Arthur Schroeder.
His body was found Jan. 25 by a relative. The residence had been ransacked and his pickup truck had been stolen.
“Eventually, we located the truck later that night in a remote area of Arlington,” said Lamoureaux. “It had been set on fire.”
Schroeder was a registered sex offender who spent 18 years in prison for multiple counts of rapes in the 1980s.
When asked if Schroeder’s past actions played a part in his murder, Lamoureaux responded, “It is still an open investigation. I suppose at some point that’s a possibility, but we don’t believe so at this point.”
