Gold Star Congressional candidate blames Biden for attack in Kabul

Aug 26, 2021, 3:54 PM

“We are in a worse position right now, I think, than we have ever been in since 9/11,” said Washington Congressional candidate and retired Army Special Forces chief warrant officer Joe Kent.

Kent told KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson Show that he believes President Biden and military leadership are responsible for the attack at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Thursday.

Former ambassador to Afghanistan worries about Biden’s ability to lead

Kent said Biden should have stuck to Trump’s plan to have U.S. forces out of Afghanistan in May.

“He (Biden) didn’t want to follow Trump’s plan because then Trump would have gotten the credit, so he went to the military and asked if the Afghan military could hold,” Kent said. “They lied to his face.”

Kent said the Afghan military didn’t actually think that the United States would leave, that they would extend for another 18 months, again, and again, and again.

“This is what happens when you rely on a terrorist organization to protect you from another terrorist organization,” Kent said. “This is just the beginning unless we go on the offensive to get our people out.”

Kent said his big concern now is the Americans left behind in Afghanistan.

“We still have thousands of Americans that are stuck and are now going to be hostages to this terrorist regime,” he said.

Kent also noted that prevents the United States from bombing areas where there are known terrorists.
