For the third time this week, a Washington State Patrol car has been damaged in a crash.

The latest crash happened Wednesday night on Interstate 5 in Olympia. Washington State Patrol spokesman Guy Gill says a trooper was sitting in his patrol car on the shoulder after making a traffic stop, when a car plowed into the trooper’s car.

Tuesday night, a speeding driver hit a State Patrol car on Highway 8, also in Thurston County, sending a trooper to the hospital with head, neck and shoulder pain.

Wednesday morning, a a trooper’s car was rear-ended on Highway 525 in Snohomish County by a pickup truck whose driver lost control on a slushy roadway.
