Prank telephone calls can be difficult to trace, unless the calls are made to 911.
Police in Fife, Wash. claim a man called 911 from a motel several times, claiming he was with a California radio station and singing a rap into the phone.
According to charging documents, when cops arrived at the Travelodge, they could hear somebody singing inside the room. When the man inside answered the door, police arrested him.
The News Tribune reports Curtis Tyquiengco pleaded not guilty in Pierce County Superior Court to second degree burglary and telephone harassment. His bail was set at $10,000.
The motel manager says the room was not rented. Tyquiengco told police a friend let him know that the room had a lock that didn’t always work.
The 41-year old told police he’d been smoking methamphetamine and called 911 because he was bored.
