With Nicole Thomas-Kennedy having now conceded the race for Seattle City Attorney, Ann Davison is officially set to take up the office at the start of the new year. Speaking to KIRO Radio’s Gee & Ursula Show, Davison discussed her plans moving forward.

Seattle city attorney candidate focuses message on ‘making sure people are safe’

Acknowledging that the race for city attorney ended with the narrowest margin of victory among any Seattle candidates in 2021, Davison expressed her intention to consider policies that come from both sides of the aisle.

“I think there’s room in the middle,” she noted. “The answer is always in the blend.”

Beyond that, she hopes to establish “a sense of leadership at the city attorney’s office,” and to help existing staff be “more efficient and more effective for us with the resources we have.”

Davison also addressed her planned approach to Seattle’s issues with repeat criminal offenders, detailing how “if someone has gotten to that place, it’s because we failed them somewhere else socially.” Ultimately, she says she’ll hone in on “preventing future harm where we can,” while ensuring that the victims of these crimes are still “receiving justice.”
