I’ve got to admit it: I was jealous last week after hearing something about my friend and colleague, KIRO Radio host John Curley.

It felt important for me to get this off my chest, so I invited John to come on my show — one hour before The Tom and Curley Show from 3-7 p.m. — so we could work it out.

John’s response to my invitation: “I’m not sure why I’m here. I don’t know if I can handle this.”

You can handle it, I assured him, because as I told him, “you’re battle toughened.”

Then, I laid it all out.

“I have a wonderful, blessed life,” I told John. “I try not to have the sin of jealously. It’s one of the seven deadly sin.”

“You should be jealous of me every day, Dori,” was John’s retort.

Find out more about what made me so envious, what John told listeners about his lifetime quest, about $22 Las Vegas Pina Coladas, and how John and I hashed it all out:

NEW YORK (AP) — The bagel in America is an immigrant story with a hole in the middle. It came to America with Eastern European Jews escaping poverty and antisemitism.
