Another atmospheric river is on its way to the Puget Sound region, bringing a near-constant run of rain over the next six days.

As the National Weather Service notes, “it will be wet,” with rain in the forecast every day between Friday night and late next week.

The main weather system is expected to roll in on Saturday, with up to 1.5 inches of rain expected to fall in Seattle through next Wednesday. Other cities, like Kent, Tacoma, and Olympia, could get as many as 2 inches as well.

The end result will be “rain with a side of rain” for the foreseeable future, the NWS predicts.

That said, flood conditions the region experienced in previous months aren’t expected to return on any sort of large scale, with the Skokomish River “the only river we have high confidence in likely reaching flood stage.”

Meanwhile, temperatures will rise from the more frigid levels the regions saw this last week, bottoming out in the mid- to low-40s, with highs in the low 50s for the bulk of the next few days.
