The Seattle Mariners are embarking on ventures outside of the stadium, with the opening of a restaurant and brewpub in the old Pyramid Brewery building near T-Mobile Park tomorrow, Aug. 23, for the game between the Washington Nationals and Mariners.

The Hatback Bar & Grille will be open on all game and event days, while Hatback and Steelheads Alley will be open on non-event days from Wednesday to Sunday.

“We wanted to create a place our entire community could enjoy, no matter the occasion,” said Catie Griggs, President of Business Operations for the Seattle Mariners. “Hatback and Steelheads Alley will be the go-to destinations to visit, whether you’re cheering on your favorite team, meeting friends for a drink, family for dinner, or connecting with other fans before and after games.”

A long-term lease was signed last year for the building that can seat up to 150 people indoor and outdoor.

With a nod to Seattle’s BIPOC communities, Mariners move to revitalize former Pyramid Brewery

The menu at Hatback’s will include steak, burgers, pizza, and oysters, with a color theme of royal blue and gold, representing the Mariners’ inaugural uniform.

A 9,500-square-foot event space is slated to open in 2023 and is capable of hosting events like weddings, gatherings, and company parties.

Its interior brick walls are being preserved to keep the historic look of the property that was built in 1914.
