Another earthquake has hit the Northwest. This one was a 3.2 magnitude quake that struck Thursday afternoon.

The MyNorthwest Earthquake Tracker had the event about 4.5 miles east, northeast of Falls City.

The quake was over 10 miles deep.

According to people in the area reported by KIRO 7, the shake was sudden and loud. It was also felt in Tokul, Preston, North Bend, Fairway and Snoqualmie.

Dave Storm owns a restaurant in the area and he definitely felt the quake. He said the quake last 3-4 minutes.

“There was just some rattling and shaking,” Storm told KIRO Newsradio. “We had some bottles of soda and things, loose things on the shelves, were jingling and shaking a little bit, bu but not much damage.”

The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) stated that earthquakes happen in Washington nearly every day, but most of them are too small to be felt by a person. Due to the state’s geologic setting, Washington has the second highest risk in the U.S. of experiencing a large and damaging earthquake because of its geologic setting.

A magnitude 3.4 earthquake happened two miles outside of Lake Holm on Feb. 22 near Auburn. Two days later, at approximately 11:15 p.m., a magnitude 2.5 earthquake occurred one mile from Lakeland North.
