One lane on Interstate 5 (I-5) is closed near 272nd Street in Kent after a semi-truck lost its load. The incident initially caused three of the four lanes to close, but two have been cleared, as of 9:30 a.m.

The Washington Department of Transportation’s (WSDOT) traffic cameras are struggling to pick up the crash due to the sudden fog that arrived in Seattle Friday morning.

WSDOT announced that I-5 heading north would have to shut down to make room for specialty equipment to arrive to help clear the lanes. Expect delays for morning commutes as WSDOT reported a four-mile backup at 8:30 a.m. Consider using alternate routes.
