Landslide blocks lanes on SR 20 in Newhalem

A landslide is blocking all lanes heading west on State Route 20 (SR 20) in Newhalem, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
UPDATE 1:10am: WB SR 20 just east of #Newhalem (MP 121) remains blocked after a landslide. Our maintenance crews are plowing the EB lane so that EB & WB SR 20 traffic can alternate. We will re-evaluate in the morning.

WSDOT maintenance crews said the slide happened at approximately 12 a.m. Traffic in both directions is currently alternating using the eastbound lanes until the westbound lanes are cleared.
Crews will re-evaluate sometime later Monday morning, as there is no timetable for when the westbound lanes will reopen, as of this reporting.
