The Seattle Police Department (SPD) is searching for a suspect who allegedly attacked a man with a machete in Lake City’s Albert Davis Park.

Officers were called to NE 125th Street, behind the library, at 9 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they found a 42-year-old man with minor scratches and small cuts on his hands.

According to an ensuing investigation by SPD, the victim was dancing near an encampment when a man hit him in the back and hand with a machete-style weapon. The victim was taken to a hospital.

The suspect ran off before officers arrived at the scene. They searched the area, but the suspect remains on the loose.

If anyone has any information on this incident, call the SPD’s Violent Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
