T-Mobile announced that Srini Gopalan will be promoted to CEO on Nov. 1, succeeding Mike Sievert, who will move into the role of Vice Chairman, according to a recent press release.

Gopalan joined T-Mobile after leading Deutsche Telekom’s Germany division, where his leadership significantly contributed to T-Mobile’s recent growth and digital transformation.

As COO, he oversaw technology, consumer, and business operations, helping drive major 5G and fiber expansions.

Sievert, who has served as CEO since 2020, led T-Mobile through record customer growth and a $200 billion increase in market value. He will remain involved in strategy and leadership development as Vice Chairman.

“I couldn’t be more excited to announce Srini Gopalan as our next CEO,” Mike Sievert, CEO of T-Mobile, said. “When I recruited Srini to be our COO, I knew he had the skills, experience, and Un-carrier mindset to lead our company into the future.”
