Mason County man charged with manslaughter after body found near Collins Lake

A 55-year-old man has been booked for manslaughter after an “unconscious subject” was found near Collins Lake in Mason County on Wednesday.
At approximately 9:17 p.m., Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies responded to the Collins Lake area after reports of an unconscious subject, MCSO announced.

Mason County detectives launch death investigation
Upon arrival, deputies located the individual and conducted a preliminary investigation.
Detectives also responded and remained in the area to conduct a death investigation.
MCSO noted that a person of interest had been detained in connection with the incident.
There are currently no additional threats to the public.
