Light rail service has been suspended along the 2 Line from the Spring District Station in Bellevue to downtown Redmond Tuesday morning.

2 Line service was suspended from South Bellevue Station to Spring District Station, but that section has since been restored, Sound Transit stated. A “bus bridge” is currently in place between the Spring District Station and Downtown Redmond Station.

The power disruption was first detected at approximately 4:15 a.m. Tuesday. Shuttle buses will replace the entire 2 Line from the South Bellevue Station to the Downtown Redmond Station until power is restored.

There’s a disabled train at the downtown Bellevue station. Crews aren’t sure what happened yet, but are investigating. According to Sound Transit, the suspension of service is not due to copper wire theft. Multiple light rail disruptions have resulted from copper wire theft in recent months, prompting Sound Transit to add more cameras, alarms, and security measures to combat the issue.

Sound Transit teams are actively working to restore the “2 Line” to service.
