A robbery and stabbing that left a 21-year-old man injured in the Chinatown-International District on Tuesday afternoon is currently under investigation.

At 4:38 p.m., Seattle Police Department (SPD) officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 1200 block of S. King Street, SPD announced.

When officers arrived, they found the man suffering from a deep cut to his face. SPD administered medical aid until Seattle Fire Department medics could arrive.

The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

K-9 unit deployed to Chinatown-International District

Patrol officers cordoned off the area, and a K-9 unit responded to search for the suspect. Officers were unable to locate the suspect, and no arrests were made.

The SPD investigation revealed that the man and the suspect had interacted for roughly four to five minutes before the assault.

The suspect stabbed the man and stole cash from him before he fled northbound into Hoa Mai Park.

SPD noted the circumstances leading up to the assault remain unclear, and the victim was being uncooperative with officers.

Officers processed the scene for evidence, and Robbery Unit detectives will lead the investigation.

If anyone has any information, they are urged to call the Seattle Police Department Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
