Bumbershoot returns to its roots with new expansive lineup

Bumbershoot, one of Seattle’s longest-running festivals, just announced its 2026 lineup — and one of the headliners is a hometown favorite.

Death Cab for Cutie, an indie rock band formed in Bellingham, will headline the festival in a nostalgic nod to Bumbershoot’s Pacific Northwest roots. The band will feature its upcoming album “I Built You A Tower,” as it headlines the Labor Day weekend festival for the first time in a decade.

Following Death Cab for Cutie will be country star Orville Peck, eclectic hip hop group De La Soul, and soulful electronica producer and DJ TOKiMONSTA. More artists include experimental funk artist Yves Tumor, local rock girl band Daughters of Venus, and Japanese quartet ATARASHII GAKKO!

While Death Cab for Cutie is headlining Sunday, hardcore punk breakout band Turnstile is bringing the heat Saturday. Turnstile will be joined by indie pop band Japanese Breakfast, R&B-indie auditory storyteller Blood Orange, and electronic drum and bass duo Chase & Status, just to name a few.

Bumbershoot will host artists, designers, wrestlers, and more

Not only will Bumbershoot feature more than 30 music groups throughout Sept. 5 and 6, but it will also showcase a plethora of vendors. Festival-goers will be able to see wrestlers, fashion designers, short films, comedians, restaurants, skateboarders, BMX riders, and a mermaid.

“Spread across Seattle Center’s 74-acre campus beneath the iconic Space Needle, Bumbershoot is a celebration of the Pacific Northwest’s vibrant creative ecosystem — a region long known as a magnet for artists, outsiders, and curious minds who have come to Seattle to make their own scene,” Bumbershoot stated in a news release. “Since its inception, Bumbershoot has brought together music, visual arts, culinary experiences, and boundary-pushing performance all under one umbrella — creating a space for constant discovery and a run of show that can’t be found anywhere else.”

There are multiple ticket types available for different fan experiences, including two-day general admission at $155.50, general admission with re-entry at $175.50, deluxe at $325.50, and free kids admission. Bumbershoot also offers single-day passes starting at $90.50 for general admission, going up to $110.50 for general admission with re-entry, and then $190.50 for deluxe.

Included in deluxe is re-entry, free parking in a secure garage near the festival entrance, a dedicated entrance lane, private viewing areas, and a deluxe-only bar space.
