Amazon has rolled out its new 30-minute delivery service for customers in four major U.S. cities, including Seattle.

Millions of U.S. customers can now receive fresh groceries, household essentials, and “locally relevant” items delivered to their door in 30 minutes or less under the new Amazon Now program, Amazon announced.

The program is currently available in Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Philadelphia, and Seattle, but Amazon has plans for rapid expansion to dozens more U.S. cities such as Austin, Houston, Minneapolis, Orlando, Phoenix, Denver, and Oklahoma City.

“Amazon Now is for when you need or want the convenience of getting your Amazon order delivered in 30 minutes or less,” said Udit Madan, senior vice president of Amazon Worldwide Operations. “With thousands of items available for ultra-fast delivery, you can get everything from groceries for dinner, to AirPods before a flight, to household essentials like laundry detergent or toothpaste delivered right to your door.”

Expedited delivery starts at $3.99 for Amazon Prime members

Amazon Now is currently $13.99 for customers without a Prime membership, while Prime members receive a discounted delivery fee of $3.99 per order. Amazon noted there is also a small order fee of $1.99 for Prime members, and $3.99 for non-Prime customers on orders less than $15.

Customers in select markets can find a “30-Minute Delivery” option in the banner on the Amazon app or homepage. Results will also appear as customers search and shop. Availability for the Amazon Now program in select areas can be found here.

Amazon is able to carry out its 30-minute delivery by use of a network of smaller locations designed for efficient order fulfillment, which are strategically placed near where customers work and live.

“This approach prioritizes the safety of employees picking and packing orders, reduces the distance delivery partners need to travel, and enables faster delivery times for customers,” Amazon stated.

30-minute service joins Amazon’s existing fleet of same-day delivery options

The Amazon Now program seamlessly complements Amazon’s pre-existing fast-delivery services as the company has added a fifth same-day delivery option. Others include Prime Air drone delivery, which can deliver in under 60 minutes across nine U.S. locations.

The one and three-hour deliveries include a selection of more than 90,000 items and everyday essentials, which are delivered through Amazon’s Same-Day Delivery network. Lastly, Amazon’s Same-Day Delivery carries millions of items in more than 10,000 U.S. cities and towns.

In 2025, Amazon delivered to Prime members across the globe at the “fastest speeds ever” for the third straight year, with more than 13 billion items arriving at customers’ homes either the same or next day.

In the U.S. alone, Amazon Prime members received more than eight billion items in the same or next day, which was a more than 30% increase compared to 2024. Amazon noted groceries and everyday essentials made up half of the eight billion products.
