FIFA released a limited-edition line of collectible World Cup jerseys for each host city, including Seattle, but they aren’t exactly flying off the shelves.

Only four of the 16 host cities’ jerseys have been released so far, including Seattle, New York/New Jersey, Kansas City, and Boston.

FIFA stated that “not all jerseys are made to be worn,” and apparently, they weren’t made to be purchased either, as all sizes for every jersey released remain in stock, as of this reporting.

FIFA insists the jerseys are ‘built to be kept,’ but every size in every city is still available

The jerseys are “built to be kept,” and FIFA assured that some jerseys are “created to last beyond the moment they represent.”

FIFA released 999 jerseys per city, ranging in sizes from extra small to double-extra large. The jerseys are made of 100% recycled polyester, with moisture-wicking, lightweight fabric, a ribber collar, and branded print.

“This is not merchandise,” FIFA stated. “This is a collectible.”

A potential reason for the jersey’s lengthy availability may be the steep retail price, a whopping $375 before tax. The sky-high price may be justified by the variety of unique features that come with the jersey, such as a certificate of authenticity, a dedicated jersey hanger, an exclusive collector’s book, and luxury packaging.

“Every detail is intentional. Every stitch is part of a system built to last, not just through seasons, but through time. This is not standard production. This is engineered collectability,” FIFA stated.

While each jersey is NFC-authenticated and individually numbered to 999, FIFA noted there would never be a restock or second release.

“The Seattle Jersey honours a city of fierce independence, original thinking, and a sporting culture as bold as its surroundings,” FIFA stated. “This collector-exclusive jersey captures that distinctive northwest spirit for those who demand more than a shirt.”

Seattle’s design echoes World Cup poster created by Camano Island artist

The jersey includes iconic Washington features such as Mount Rainier, the Seattle skyline, an Orca tail, and a Washington State Ferry pictured on the front, while Lumen Field’s iconic rooftop arches are strewn across the back.

Seattle’s jersey is a spitting image of the city’s World Cup poster, released in April 2025, designed by Camano Island artist Shogo Ota.

Seattle’s Lumen Field, which was temporarily rebranded as Seattle Stadium for the FIFA World Cup, is slated to host six games:

  • June 15: Belgium v. Egypt
  • June 19: USA v. Australia
  • June 24: Qatar v. Bosnia-Herzegovina
  • June 26: Egypt v. Iran
  • July 1: Matchup to be announced
  • July 6: Matchup to be announced
