Five juvenile armed robbery suspects were arrested after allegedly pointing firearms at a victim and leading police on a high-speed chase through Seattle early Wednesday morning.

According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), officers arrived at the scene in the 2900 block of 1st Avenue and made contact with the 20-year-old victim.

The victim said he was driving on the ramp toward Dexter Avenue while trying to access Denny Way when a white minivan, potentially a Dodge, occupied by four individuals, pulled alongside the victim.

Seattle Police pursuit wound through three precincts before ending in arrests

The suspect driver began to drive erratically before making a stop next to his car at a stoplight. While stopped, two suspects then pointed guns at him.

In an attempt to flee, the victim ran a red light, but the suspect vehicle followed and continued westbound on Denny Way.

Several southbound lanes of SR 99 at S. Atlantic Street were blocked due to police activity in the area.

By 5 a.m., all southbound lanes on SR 99 at S. Atlantic Street have reopened after the right lane was blocked for SPD activity.

An SPD officer later located the suspect vehicle and initiated a pursuit in the West Precinct area. Officers lost sight of the vehicle in the North Precinct area, but a short while later, the vehicle was spotted in the Southwest Precinct. SPD successfully ended the pursuit and took the five suspects into custody.

SPD arrested four juveniles, including three boys and one girl, ages 14, 15, and two 17-year-olds, for investigation of assault and unlawful possession of a firearm. The four juvenile suspects were booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center.

Officers also arrested an 18-year-old man and booked him into the King County Jail for investigation of assault.

The vehicle was ultimately impounded and transported to be processed.
