Body of British Columbia hiker missing for 2 weeks found near Twin Sisters Mountain

The body of a missing hiker from British Columbia was found Sunday, the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
The hiker, Gursimran Singh, first went missing on June 29. Nearly two weeks later, Search and Rescue was notified of a sighting on July 12, prompting the deployment of a helicopter rescue team and a mountain rescue team. The body was found near Washington’s Twin Sisters Mountain.
“Sadly, this was a recovery mission,” the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office stated. “Our heartfelt condolences to Gursimran’s family, friends, and loved ones during this painful time. We are so sorry for your loss. We are deeply grateful to all who contributed time, expertise, and resources throughout this mission.”
This is the second body of a hiker discovered by the sheriff’s office within a week, as the body of Steven Dorsett was recovered in the National Forest on Saturday afternoon. Dorsett first went missing on June 24.
