Bensussen Deutsch & Associates, LLC, a Woodinville-headquartered merchandise agency for sports-licensing collaborations, announced that it has become an official licensee for Epic GamesFortnite in a deal facilitated by IMG Licensing.

The agreement allows BDA to create merchandise inspired by Fortnite and tie them to sports teams, according to a news release. Fortnite has more than 500 million registered accounts worldwide.

“Fortnite is a global phenomenon and its community has an incredibly high standard for authenticity,” said Steve Avanessian, BDA’s executive director of client services and sports, in the release. “We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Fortnite to bridge the gap between the virtual and the physical worlds.”

BDA works with sports teams, leagues, colleges, and entertainment brands to develop licensed merchandise. In addition to product design, the company provides sourcing, e-commerce, and fulfillment services for its clients.

“We need a partner who doesn’t just understand merchandise, but really grasps the culture,” said Desmond Sansevere, IMG Licensing’s vice president of licensing, business development, and digital, in the release. “BDA is exactly that partner.”
