I-5 south is down to one lane after a deadly crash near the Everett Mall.
The freeway is blocked near SR 526 (milepost 191), according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
“Emergency crews are on the scene,” WSDOT stated on X. “There is no ETA to reopen lanes.”
Southbound I-5 is reduced to one lane at SR 526 (mp 191) due to a collision.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding said the lanes are blocked near Everett Mall Way due to a multi-vehicle fatal collision.
“Expect delays,” Harding stated on X. “Please be patient and drive carefully through the area.”

Harding advised drivers to use alternate routes. The backup is around 4 miles, KIRO Newsradio confirmed.
